RAM Career Connections

Thank you for your interest in the Huston–Tillotson University RAM Career Connections Program. The HT RAM Career Connections Program funded through UNCF, will assist entering freshmen who are interested in majoring in business administration, communication, computer science, or kinesiology to obtain a career in the field upon college graduation. The Program will prepare participants with the skills, confidence, and competencies required of that career path. As an applicant to the HT RAM Career Connections Program you are responsible for completing and submitting all of the required application materials to this website: PLEASE NOTE: We will only accept online submissions and students submitting late or incomplete applications will not be considered for the program.


Application Deadline:

All required materials must be completed and uploaded by Tuesday, June 27th by 5pm.


Applicants must have completed high school by the start of the program and have been admitted into HT as a first-time freshman. Additionally, students must register online at htu.edu to be eligible to participate in the Career Connections Program.

Additional Selection Criteria

Although students may be eligible for the program, that does not guarantee selection. Students are selected based on the following additional criteria:

  • Applicants must be an incoming freshman admitted to HT
  • Applicants must meet the admission criteria for Huston-Tillotson University. Applicants will also be selected based on other indicators  of academic talent such as faculty recommendations, writing sample, and possibly a “scenario-based interview.”
  • Applicants must commit to completing two college courses during the five-week program, participating in all seminars, workshops, and  activities  during  the  Career Connections Program as well  as enrichment, mentoring and related  activities  during  the  academic year
  • Applicants must have an articulated and/or demonstrated interest in Business

Administration, Communication, Computer Science, or Kinesiology.

Finally, applicants will be selected based on the overall quality of their application package, including their personal essay. We look forward to receiving your completed  application materials. Finalists from the applicant pool will be contacted  for a phone interview by the Committee.
